Baby Phat Spring/Summer Collection '09

Looks like purple is back in style for next year as well. Unfortunatelly, I only own like 2 purple shirts and one dress. Most of my stuff is either black/brown or pink. I must say I've my style a lot since high school or even college. Back then I just wore everything black and white, and no color, as If I were afraid of it. Now I'm trying to incorporate some color into it :)
Hope you like their new collection :p
I will be posting more stuff soon...I'm just so busy with exams.

Facebook virus

Just thought I'd post this because I know a lot of us use Facebook. There is a new virus called "Koobface". It uses social network's messaging system to infect PCs, then tries to gather sensitive information such as credit card numbers. They way it works is by sending notes to friends by the person's computer that's been infected.
The message includes subjects like "You look just awesome in this new movie" and below there is a link which asks you to download what it claims to be an update of Adobe Systems. Once it's downloaded your computer is infected without you even knowing, and takes you to infected sites when you try to use search engines from YAHOO, Google etc.
So just heads up. If you wanna learn more click here.

Beauty for less

I came across a site yesterday with all these beauty deals for Toronto residence, but some can be applied to different Canadian cities as well as American.
For example, if you want your teeth bleached professionally, the dentist will charge you $350 for the tray and the bleach. You can get it for about $250 for both trays (lower and upper) if you go to a local college and get the dental assistants and dentists in training to make it for you. Same goes with getting your hair cut and colored. If you go to the local college, they do it for really cheap because they need experience and they try to get future clients.
Here are some of the locations in Toronto that have great deals for hair, nails and others.

Aveda Academy Salon

Students here are taught a three-point system, which marries haircutting and hair colouring with makeup application, as well as how to adapt their skills to meet clients' specific needs. Best of all, they use only Aveda products and charge a fraction of what you'd pay at a regular salon: $25 for a wash and blowout, $40 for the damage-remedy treatment and $45 and up for highlights. The only small setback is that the salon doesn't have regular business hours, so call to see when its staff can spend some time on your strands.

Prices: $25-$45+

Beauty Exchange

Six years ago Beauty Exchange owner and founder Dina Fodero envisioned opening a high-calibre aesthetics school and professional-grade spa committed to women's well-being. Today, just as Dina dreamed, students at BE are serious about the health and beautification of their clients. Pop in for a $10 mani, a $36 chocolate body scrub or a$44 mud wrap. Be pampered with brand-name products like Sothys and Allpresan or with the spa's very own Be Exfoliated line. You'll feel uplifted without having to empty your wallet. Students are available from Monday to Friday, but on Saturday the instructors take over and the spa services are regularly priced.

3281 Yonge St. • 416-932-2445 • www.beauty-exchange.com

Prices: $6-$65

Canadian Business College Faculty of Dental Hygiene

So you want a gleaming smile but aren't willing to swallow the $500 price tag for professionally whitened teeth? At the Canadian Business College's Faculty of Dental Hygiene, located in the Cumberland Terrace, a set of customized moulds and a bleaching kit will set you back only $100. If it's a standard checkup you're after, $20 will get you a dental exam, complete with cleaning and polishing, performed by third- and fourth-semester students. Rest easy as a certified dentist and hygienist supervise the procedure and perform a post-cleaning exam for no extra charge. Services are available Monday through Friday by appointment.

Prices: $20-$100

Winter hats

Wool fedora
For men and women, the fedora is back this season in a big way. And they aren't just for Hollywood celebrities; anyone can incorporate a fedora into their wardrobe. Grey and black are versatile choices, or you can select a purple or fuchsia fedora to add a little funk to your look.

Slouchy knit beret
Choose a slouchy beret in a warm knit - it's a hat that you can wear with almost anything. Whether you are walking to work or spending the weekend outdoors, a beret is a cute choice. Nobis offers a variety of fantastic winter hats and caps, including the Ava chunky hand-knit beret pictured here. It comes in white, violet, gunmetal or navy. You can find these at stores such as Ardene or Claire's and sometimes they have deals where u can pick 2 items for $15.

Other winter headwear
Other winter hats and headwear to consider include earmuffs, earflap hats and cashmere headwraps.

Whatever hat you choose this winter, make it more than just a way to stay warm. By choosing bright colors, textured fabrics or fur trim, your winter headwear can become a key fashion accessory.

Victoria's secret lawsuit

I guess their bra's aren't so great. Personally, I never had a problem but there's been people who have been getting rashes, and itchy hives around the breast area.
According to the video there was Formaldehyde found in the bras that would trigger this. This definatelly sucks for both those people and victoria's secret. I'd suggest even if you do wanna buy these bra's, wash them just in case, same goes with any new clothes you buy.

tips on how to look casual chic everday

Mix and match
For a cohesive causal chic look avoid any wearing any one style head-to-toe. An outfit with contrasting pieces keeps you from looking like you bought your outfit right off a mannequin. The key is to mix and match different fabrics and styles. Throw on a tailored jacket with a pair of jeans and heels. Or wear a ruffled blouse with your favorite khakis and flats.

Splurge on the classics
Every wardrobe should include some basic pieces including jeans, a little black dress, tailored jacket, etc. Make sure you don’t skimp on getting quality pieces with these items as they are the building blocks of your wardrobe. Do you cringe when you see the price tag of designer jeans and wonder how many knockoffs you can buy for the same price? Try them on and if they fit perfectly, think about how many times you'll wear them. If you’ll wear them all the time, then they’ll be a better deal than four not-so-perfect jeans that’ll stay in the back of your closet all year. Trendy items can be purchased for less than your wardrobe staples – you know you’ll be tossing them once they’ve hit the 'so last season list.' But great fitting jeans will never go out of style and will just improve with age as you break them in.

Don’t forget about comfort
Casual chic isn’t just a fashion style, it’s a lifestyle. The point behind this style is to be comfortable, to show you don’t have be 'done up' and 'designered-out' to look stylish. So make sure that in the effort to look effortless you don’t forget to be comfortable. Flats can be your best friend after a day at the office turned night out on the town. A fuller skirt will be easier to hurry to an errand in then a pencil skirt.

Show off a little personality
Every season has its fashion 'it list' – whether it’s skinny jeans, menswear or animal prints. Make sure you don’t neglect your personal style in trying to follow the latest trends. Every celebrity voted well-dressed most likely won that honor by making a statement with his or her clothing. Find what looks great on you and wear it regardless if it’s out or in.

Accessorize simply
The key to look like you didn’t try to hard is to not try too hard. Coco Chanel, arguably the fashion icon who gave birth to causal chic, once said to remove one piece of jewelry right before you leave the house. So stick to a statement necklace, dangling earrings or a cocktail ring – just don’t walk out the house wearing your whole jewelry collection. Or perhaps go with the smartest accessory of all time – sunglasses

Shoppers savings..

I went to shoppers today and bought my nails for $6.99 which are usually over $10. Here where I live they are also having a huge sale on straightners. Some that were around $60-80 can now be purchased for $30-50.
I also came across this flyer. The Maybelline mousse are now 20% off, and Quo lip glosses are $10 each. Another good deal is the Lashblast mascara, one of my favorite and that's 20% off.

Minimizing pores- homemade recipes

Cleanse your face with a mild face wash. Then splash ice cold water over your face or alternatively rub an ice cube wrapped in a towel over your face. Cold ice constricts the facial muscles for a while and this action can shrink the pores temporarily. Then pat dry. You can then apply fresh lemon juice over your face, that is, if you do not have an extremely sensitive skin which is allergic to lemons. Lemon juice acts as an astringent which helps to close the pores.

Egg whites
are not just skin-tighteners but also excellent pore-shrinkers. Beat an egg white. Add a tsp of lemon juice to it. Then apply it evenly over your face until it dries and tightens around the skin. You may skip using lemon juice if you wish and use only a well-beaten egg white on your face. Wash it off with tepid water and a splash of cold water.

Blend apricot and tomato pulp to a paste and apply this mixture to your face.

Organic shell lip balm

Omg how cute is that??? I came across these recently and thought I'd post it up. Not only are they super cute and different but they do wonders for your lips.
They are made of certified organic coconut, macadamia and jojoba oils to rehydrate and protect your lips for a sexy pout. What make is even more special is the stylish shell, fastened by a shiny silver clasp that makes this a hot accessory for eco-conscious fashionistas. You can find more info here

dry damaged hair

Tips:
-Towel dry or air dry your hair instead of blowing drying it
-Use a shower cap after applying your conditioner and blow dry it - the heat opens up your hair cuticles and lets the conditioner work even deeper into the hair. Stylists suggest you use a leave-in conditioner at least twice a week.
-Use Neem oil, a moisturizing treatment
-Twist hair into a bun on top of your head, this will make your hair wavey and won't damage it. (air dry it)
-Get your hair trimmed every six to eight weeks to get rid of any split ends that may spread up the hair.
Limit the use of chemical treatments like perms, dyes, and relaxers to once every 8 to 10 weeks at the most.
-Avoid straightening your hair too often, instead towel dry your hair and, just brush your hair out and then brush again as you blow dry it.
- Use a wide-toothed comb to limit hair breakage. Don't ever brush wet or damp hair!

How to lose belly fat

Since summer time is fast approaching, a lot of people are trying to lose that excess belly fat and get in shape. I've been trying to find good ways to lose that belly fat, and I came across this great article.I am too cheap to join the gym and plus I know I wouldn't be going there anyways, I absolutely hate going to the gym, its way too boring for me. I'd rather be playing sports or doing something fun.
I'm trying to find a good diet plan as well and start eating healthy.
I was wondering if anyone else has diet ideas/tips that they would like to share? That would be greatly appreciated it.

Personal note..

Sorry for not replying I didn't have the internet for a while..apparantly theres a limit on how much u can use..(bandwith) and I went over it somehow??? I had to call and argue with them for hours and it turns out that people were stealing my internet because it wasn't secured. So I advise everyone who doesn't have their connection secured to get it because people are getting away with it, and one day you might just get your internet shut off because of some stupid people. The good thing though, now everything is settled and I'm back :)

Indoor tanning salon reviews

Lately I've been going tanning a lot and I actually started getting a nice tan. I used to have a membership at Bright Side and I never got a tan there. Their beds aren't that good and they sell you shitty lotions. I don't think that they change their bulbs often, their beds are usually cold all the time and it takes forever for it to start working. After that I decided to go to a few different ones and see which one would work for me.
Dark side is pretty good, I'm not sure if most of you guys are familiar with these it might all depend on the location where you live.
My favorite has to be No Tan Line Salon. They change their bulbs regularly and you get notice a difference right away.
Another good one is Caribbean Tanning Salon. They are a little bit pricey but again you can notice a difference and their rooms are huge, and the have lotions inside for you and deodorant and stuff like that which is pretty nice.

--------------------------------------------------
What I usually do..
I used to go for 20 minute regular...I'd suggest doing that at the very beginning depending on how dark you are already and your skin type. If your skin is very sensitive and you burn easy go for like 10 minutes. I already have a base tan so I can go for about 20 minutes or even 10 in the sizzler. You should also have a good tanning lotion. Anything with a bronzer is good, just make sure you rub it in good.
I wouldn't suggest buying anything step 1 because it doesn't work , you won't tan at all, but that's just my suggestion.
I will be adding lotion reviews soon.

I'm back

Hey everyone,
I'm sorry for not updating for a while. There was a lot of drama in my life and I just needed time for myself for a little bit. I'm done school now, I'm starting fresh with everything. It's hard when you get out of a 4 1/2 year relationship as well, and find out one of your parents is really sick, but hopefully everything is going to be okay, and I'm trying to look on the bright side. I'm going to have to get a job and help out and it will keep me busy as well.
I will be adding new stuff soon. Thanks for being patient and visiting.
P.s I'd also appreciate if you can support me by clicking on the ads on the side. I'm thinking of having some contests pretty soon and giving away some prizes, but I also would need your help and it would help a lot if you click on those ads. Thank you so much.

Eyemake up pics

I was bored couple of days ago so I tried to take a good close up pics. As you can see I clearly suck lol...I still dont know how to work that camera..
I have a Canon SD600 which is a decent cam, I just think its probably me that doesn't know how to take good close ups. It usually turns out too bright or too dark or it turns redish color. This is the best I could do. I will have to practice more.

I used Green + Gold eyeshadow and I tried out my new fake lashes..
