Today I decided to do some journaling and self reflection as well as read a book. I'm currently reading "stop doing that sh*t " by Gary John Bishop and I'm enjoying it so far.

Self care during COVID-19

Since we are all stuck at home figured I'd do something different from my usual posts and start providing some more helpful tips.

During these hard times it's important we stay positive, and take care of ourselves and limit stress. Here are 5 tips you can apply right now to help you be less stressed and more productive.

1. Read a book

2. Yoga + Stretching

3. Call a friend

4. Listen to a podcast

5. Meditate

Those are my favorite that I've implemented so far. I find that they keep me productive and more motivated.

Turban hair towel infuses with Rose oil 🌹

Purchased this turban style hair towel this week at Marshalls for $7.99 Canadian. This particular one is infused with rose oil.  Some of the things that rose oil helps with include; repair dry damaged hair, promote hair growth as well as add shine. I found after first try that my hair dried pretty fast. I would not recommend this for someone who has super thick long hair. My hair is medium length and somewhat thick now and it just all fit in. For anyone with short/medium thickish hair this works perfect and it holds it in place pretty good. Is it necessary? NO. However if its something you've been wanting a try give it a go. Pretty good price too.

Bought these a little while ago at Winners (For American viewers perhaps try Marshalls, or Target)  for $6.99. Wanted to fully test it out before writing a review. These are one of the better quality  out of all the make up wipe removers . These are infused with morrocan rose oil and coconut water. This particular one is used for all skin types. Comes with 60 pre-moistened towelettes. For most of my uses I only needed one make up wipe/towelette. It left my skin feeling really soft. However, I did always decide to wash my face out after.

Pros: Effective and reasonably priced

Leaves skin feeling smooth

Infused with coconut water as well as rose water

Only need to use one towelette for most cases, very efficient

Cons: Comes with 60 towelettes, wish it came with more

Got this for $9.99 at a local winners store.

I really like this. The bow is  cute and soft, and it holds a lot of hair back. The clips are also sturdy and hold in place.

This can be used before applying make uo, great for facials or even for blow drying your hair.

Made of 100% microfiber.

It's washable- just wash in cold water and hang to dry..

Definitely happy with this purchase.

Marcelle- dry skin makeup remover

Purchased this from shoppers for $15 a few weeks back.  I figured I'd give it a try since I liked their other products. This bottle is 400ml plus 100ml free=500ml or 16.9oz which is a good size for the price.
However, few days into it I started breaking out and my skin was super dry. I decided give it a break try try it again and same thing. Turns out this isn't a good product for my skin. I tend to have dry skin in the winter and oily in the summer.

Pros:
Alcohol free
Fragrance free
Hypoallergenic
Good price

Cons:
Caused acne and breakouts

Conclusion:
I would personally not buy this particular makeup remover again (dry skin)
It did not work for me, but may work for others

Revlon 668 Creme Primrose Lipstick Review

This is absolutely one of my favorite lipstick colors. I purchased this at shoppers for $6.99 Canadian. Wal-Mart may have it for a bit less.This lipstick is so creamy and smooth and I love the color which is a  mix of cool pink with muave. The quality of this lipstick is comparable to MAC and Sephora . It also doesn't have any weird smell or taste like some lipsticks which is a bonus.
Overall, I highly recommend this lipstick if you like this color. Super cheap and amazing quality for the price!

Maybelline Dream Wonder Pressed Powder

I purchased one a few months ago and fell in love. I usually put it on top of my foundation to set it in.
I usually cleanse my face, apply light foundation and then use this powder to set my foundation in. You can use the little sponge provided, or use your own brush. I prefer using my own brush. It also comes with a small mirror. The only downfall to this is, the flip up mirror is inside of the package where the sponge is. Besides that I love it. Decent price too. It cost about $14 Canadian . Walmart has it for cheaper.

Pros:
Leaves skin flawless
Does not make it look cakey
Comes with a mirror
Comes with a sponge
Fairly cheap

Cons:
Mirror is inside the packaging

Nivea day care

Purchased this a few weeks ago because my face was way to dry. This cold weather definitely does not help and neither does my psoriasis. I apply this to a cleansed face, small amount is all you need. It will leave your face feeling so soft and it doesn't aggrivate my psoriasis either.  My skins feels super moisturized after. Another great thing is that is inexpensive. It was around 8$ at the local store.

This cream contains natural almond oil and hydra IQ. So if you are allergic to almond probably best to avoid it or tall to your doctor or dermatologist about it.

My overall experience:

It took a while to get down majority of ways to target certain groups of muscles.  

It works really great for upper and lower back as well as glutes. It also works great for hamstrings. I never it on my chest. I suffer from severe arthritis and I find that this helps get rid of some of those knots in the upper and lower back. It does feel a little rough and it may cause some very minor pain/discomfort but it does feel good afterwards.  I chose this roller over flat surface one because this one digs deeper and gives you more of a deep tissue massage.  I love the color as well. The only thing I am not too thrilled about is the lenght and the price. I wish this one was about 15-16inch and maybe $15.

Urban Decay-Naked Illuminated Aura

A little late but better late than never. I purchased this from Sephora a few months ago back in the Winter time. It was $36 plus tax Canadian. This product is light, yet sparkly and shimmer great for all over the body highlight. The only downfall is that it did not really give me the "highlight" effect I was hoping to get for my face. It's more glittery/sparkly which can be used for  eyeshadow or all over body application. The package is really cute and comes with a small mirror built inside and a small brush. Overall, the price may be a little too high for some. I would not recommend it for a "highlighter" but if want to use it as an eyeshadow or for all over the body then you can definitely use this product.

Pros: Shiny, light, shimmery,glittery great for all over the body or even eyeshadow, cute package, vegan

Cons: Not recommended as a highlighter which I bought it for, pretty expensive

Rimmel Wonder' lash mascara with Argan Oil

I thought this mascara might be good because it's made with Argan oil but I was not too impressed. I was under impression that it would condition my lashes but it was pretty dry and it didn't really make much difference to my eyelashes. One thing I do give it credit for is the ability to separate eyelashes. It didn't clump much.

Pro: Didn't clump too much, pretty good ar separating eyelashes
Cons: Dry, didn't notice difference in my eyelashes length wise.

Overall:  I would not purchase this again. It didn't work for me. I was hoping the Argan oil would moistures the eyelashes and help them grow perhaps but it was pretty dry. Only good thing is it kinda separated the eyelashes . Price was about $10.
